Interactive Art Exhibition

Brief — Create an art installation on the topic of dystopia
Role — Concept Developer, 3D designer
Studies — Motion Creative

In this futuristic dystopian world, robots and AI have taken over our jobs leaving us only one company left to apply for. In this experience, participants took part in applying for a job at The Company. Depending on the private data they filled in, they got personalized results if they were compatible for the job or not. This aimed for creating reflection for the participants on how they give away personal data.

Facefilter

For the installation, I designed the look for the ‘robot’ using Spark AR for creating the face filter. For the design, I used a print of a computer hardware pattern as a base and added shine and reflectance. The face filter and the body were projected upon the torso, projection-mapped using the software Resolume which we also used to VJ play the results for the participants.

As we wanted to create a representation of a robot, we used projection mapping as a technique, to map both the visuals to the ‘robot’ and the feedback of the results on the background. To create an individual answer for participants, we had one of us look at what data they gave away to later on embrace the role of a video jockey - to play the fitting animation i.e the result.

Technicalities

The purpose of this project was to create reflection on how we share and give away data to companies.
